SPOTLIGHT on THE PINK FUND
Earlier in the week, we mentioned Molly MacDonald and the non-profit organization she’s created, The Pink Fund. We’d like to tell you a bit more about The Pink Fund and how you can help positively impact women and their families as they cope with breast cancer.
The Pink Fund has been formed to help women (and men) focus on healing, raising their families and returning to the workplace. The Pink Fund will provide short term financial aid during the brief period of treatment and recovery. Literally millions of dollars are being raised for early detection, research and programs for the medically underserved. Families facing breast cancer urgently need financial help now. The Pink Fund provides this help.
Give Help: While one person may have the vision to affect change and do good, “it takes a village” to make it happen.
- If you are interested in helping The Pink Fund in any capacity, please contact them today.
- Purchase a Caps For A Cause pink baseball cap
Get Help: To qualify for short-term financial aid, please pay a visit to the social worker at the medical facility where you are receiving treatment. Explain your circumstances and ask her/him to contact The Pink Fund for an application.
Attend An Event: In Michigan? Don’t miss the Turning Burdens into Blessings Luncheon. Enjoy fun, fashion, information, delicious food and great prizes. Guest Speakers include: Dr. Daniel Sherbert, a well reknowned plastic surgeon specializing in breast reconstruction and Dr. Jen Green, a naturopath specializing in cancer care. All proceeds raised will benefit Michigan breast cancer patients who are in active treatment and have lost their stream of income.
Time & Place: October 18th, 2009 from Noon – 3pm @ Glen Oaks Country Club 30500 W. Thirteen Mile Rd. Farmington Hills, MI. To purchase tickets, click here.
