Winter Jeans: Update Your Wardrobe For Winter On A Budget With Jeans
Every new season brings with it fresh and more fashionable demands upon your wardrobe, from jumpers to joggers, jewellery to jeans, but for January 2012 we’ve decided to shine the spotlight on denim wear. Your jeans form a key part of all manner of different ensembles, suitable for all manner of occasions, and once in a while it’s important to give your jeans look a bit of a makeover.
It really doesn’t matter whether you shop at Net-A-Porter or next.co.uk as jeans really aren’t about the amount of money you’re willing to spend. Instead, it’s more important to think about shape, colour and versatility and which styles will best prepare you for the long year ahead. To help you get your priorities in order, we’ve put together our top three:
1. Dark Denim Skinny Jeans - These can take you from office-wear to Friday night cocktails, weekend walks to Sunday brunches. A pair of skinny jeans can form the building blocks of any number of different outfits. Team with a silky blouse for evening wear or an oversized jumper for a more casual kind of look. Black is classic but if yking overly gothic or gaunt then go for midnight blue dark wash denim instead.
2. Colored Jeans - Brightly coloured denim wear came to the fore in Summer and Autumn and looks set to be a major look for 2012 as well. If you are yet to invest in the trend then take the January sales to be your perfect opportunity to do so. If you’re feeling brave a neon bright shade should help to brighten winter’s remaining darkened days or, if you’d rather play it safe, shades like port wine red and forest green are flattering and easy to style.
3. 7/8 Jeans - Longer than cut offs but a fraction more stylish than your average full length jean, this is another trend set to be big for Spring. We see this one sticking around for a while so if you like to get the most out of your on-trend buys then commit to purchase sooner rather than later. Wear with kitten heels for a 50s inspired style interpretation.
