Everyone loves a good sample sale and when the first private sample sale sites showed up on the scene they. were. awesome. Fast forward a couple years and they are still one of our favorite hot spots to score designer for less, but even we have to admit we get sample sale fatigue. So many emails, so many sales. Some days it seems like everyone is hosting the same sale. Don’t get us wrong, we’re still die-hard Gilt, ideeli, and Rue La La fans, but if you’re in the market for a few new places to shop then read on fellow savvy shopper, we think you’ll like what we’ve found.
What: Exclusive capsule collections from the worlds most sought after designers.
Why We Like It: The first sale we spotted was the upcoming Prabal Gurung, nuff said.
Perks: When you join via our exclusive link you’ll get $100 credit to start your shopping. PLUS… Invite your friends and family to join and they’ll get a $100 credit towards their first purchase of $250 or more when they sign up. You’ll also get a $100 credit to your account after they’ve received their orders.
What: The world’s first video shopping destination. Their clever curators show and sell chic finds in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and home.
Why We Like It: Video. Clothing, cosmetics, home goods – they are all better sold via video. If you’ve ever bought something online based on how it looked in a photo and then hated it once it arrived (who hasn’t?), Joyus is for you. Their curators do an amazing job of describing, showing, and talking about their products in every way you can imagine, all in just a couple of minutes. You get a much better idea of what you’re thinking about purchasing through their well-edited videos. And we think curator Gina Pell is the cat’s meow.
Perks: Besides getting an up close & personal look at each product and how-to tips, you’ll also get an instant $10 credit added to your account when you join via this link. Invite your friends and you’ll both earn $10 when they join.
What: Private sales with a fresh selection of new home décor and furnishings occur each week and are curated by our professional in-house sourcing team and by well-known celebrity designers known as our LuxeLife Trendsetters.
Why We Like It: Group Buys and Daily Deals. With their Daily Deal every day they feature a fresh luxe pick with a great discount. This is a cool feature – we love deals that have a short window of opportunity. Strike while the iron is hot. Their Group Buys is another money saver – each week they offer a selection of items in the Group Buys program and when a member purchases an item the price drops. The more members that buy, the lower the price goes and everyone ends up paying the lowest price at the end of the sale.
Perks: Join now and invite friends, when they join earn $10 on their first purchase. Not the biggest perk out there, but we really think their Daily Deal is one to watch, they also offer a Price Match Guarantee, and Nikki Hilton is one of their trendsetters.
UPDATE: Friday, 3.23.12 take an extra 50% off at Luxeyard with code “LUXE4SPRING”
Why We Like It: Put it this way, we lost a hour or so just writing this post. One click over to Joss & Main and we were sucked in for the night. So many great items from small toiletries to full blown major pieces of furniture, Joss & Main has a really good eye, and unlike some other home sale sites these items are not only aesthetically pleasing, they are affordable too! We spotted several sales that were that were definitely for budget-minded design lovers like us!
Perks: Join and then invite your friends, earn a $15 credit for each one who makes a purchase. Again, not the best referral kick-back going, but their prices make up for it.
What: Launched by two UPenn students, Kembrel is a private shopping community for fashion conscious urban dwellers. By partnering with the hottest lifestyle brands, we are able to offer 40-75% discounts off retail prices to our members in our popup boutiques in your city and online in curated collections and limited-time outlet sales that last for just 7 days.
Why We Like It: It was started by two UPenn students. We think that’s pretty cool. Besides their awesome pop-ups, great selection of apparel for guys & gals, they also partner with National brands for additional discounts at online retailers like Threadless, Sprayground, Dormify, CampusFood – yes, they are heavy on the collegiate set!
Perks: If you’re a BMOC you’ll want to join and pick up their VIP Card ($20 annually) which will save you an additional 20% off all purchases and get you Free Shipping. I just added a pair of Ray-Bans to my cart and the card paid for itself immediately. In addition to VIP savings they also offer refer-a-friend rewards: Get $20 when 10 friends join, get $20 more when 25 friends have joined, and when 50 friends have joined you’ll get $40 more.
